Closing a file in blender?

Hi,

absolute newb in blender.

How do I close a file?

Alternatively, how do I get blender to go into the state it was in, when first opened, without having to restart blender.

Couldn’t find a File->Close in the menus.

(Blender version 2.78c)

Blender only has one project open at a time. So you either close Blender or you create a new project in Blender.

CTRL+N is a quick way to open a new file.
