Texture painting, scaling problem

Hi, i’m tringn to texture paint my terrain since a while now, but the resolution of the brush texture is pure crap. Too low, muddy. When im scaling the UV is the resolution good, but it repeats all over the image.

Is there a way to make it work properly or is this part of blender so buggy and shitty, that i’ve to use 3DS Max oder Maya? I’ve use the Unity terrain, the Paintings works probperly, but there are some other problems with the terrains there.

I want some useful infos or a link to a good tutorial, google searchings doesn’t help me, the results are shit and use less.
