Fade to transparant

Hi, i want to make an animation of a object fading in the scene from bottom to the top. When i use its generated uv coordinates it always start from the left bottom corner and works its way around the object. I know this is because thats how the coordinates are projected to the object. (from left bottom to right top). What is the right way to fade the object in to the scene as i want? Please have a look at the file i inserted to clarify it some more;

I found out setting rotation to -90 degrees and then animating location in mapping node gives the desired result. Still a bit puzzled, its always sliding puzzle for me. :frowning:
