glass material on top of the background image

Hi all

Im trying to render this glass cabinet on top of the image (background image), three sides of the cabinet have glass walls. After compositing I get those walls as look like a solid color and i can’t see the image behind the glass.

can anyone give me a tip how can i fix that.

PS: using enviroment texture is not an option.

Any refractive shader will render opaque. Use a transparent/glossy mix instead:

Appreciate for the tip, could you please attached that blend file of you example

This is my node setup for the “glass” - other than that that’s more or less exactly your file, so no need to exchange that.

Your last render with vine glasses is really cool, that is what I want to achieve. But my renders not look the same as Yours. Did you put some extra lighting in the sence?

I put that background image onto a plane and placed it in the front and back of the scene - to provide scene adequate lighting and reflections for the glass panes. I assume you did something very similar in your first render?

Many thanks for a night reply
yes i used it as enviroment texture but not as planes.
