Cant add clips in video sequence editor

Hello there.

So i have created a simple animation and redered it to PNG files, but i cant add clips in the video sequence editor no options appear, as you cant see in the image bellow:

Has anyone run into this kind of problem?? HELP!!
Im using manjaro as a operating sistem. does this has anything to do with it?
i have tried to uninstall and install blender but no efect.

If you want to add a rendered image sequence you would use Add / Image or Add / Movie.
Add / Clip is for the Movie Clip Editor
