Smoothing groups -smoothed borders

Hello everyone.


From the image above I want to get the result to the right… any suggestion?
I tried to look for some answer and I did not find anything.
Any help is welcome!

You could use a SubDiv and use Control Loops, then bake a normal map from it.

Or bevel it with more segments. Also is that an imported mesh?

Yep this was the first thing I thought but I cannot add more vertices to this geometry

If you can not add or remove vertices because of budget then you wont be in a position to control smoothing groups much, since some of the related operations can actually affect vertex count, similar to how adding multiple UV layouts adds more vertices so do edge splits in smoothing groups, if you have permission to still remove some vertices then you could remove the split edges/smoothing from that part of the model.
