Ridged Body Constraint stretchy

I’m somewhat new to blender (6 months of consistent study and use) and I’ve started to use Ridged Bodies for character earrings using the hinge constraint. Under acceleration the constraint distance changes, causing the earring to separate from the ear. So my question is, is this normal and any way to correct this.

I’ve included an example, blend file, with motion on frames 0-11, and blue bar moves relative to red bar. Seems my hinge is made of rubber.
