Blender internal raw and filmic?

I notice the option for raw and filmic in the color management when using the internal renderer. I typically use the Blender internal renderer. I thought filmic was just a Cycles thing, and I am very confused about the raw. I want to try out Gimp 2.9’s new high bit depth and linear spaces for compositing. Is this possible with Blender Internal? ALso, if the display device option is set to sRGB, then why would there even be a raw option? Doesn’t sRGB automatically put the gamma curve in?

CAn anyone point me in the right direction to figure this out?
