sketchfab equivalent

sketchfab
problem I see is that 3D models uploaded there become public

is there another way to make model like that and be private
on some HTML page may be or added to some files ?
then I could sent file to only specific people!

there is an MS app to view 3D models
it can upload obj 3d models
only problem is the size of ojb files which are huge!

thanks for any feedback

Marmoset Toolbag has WebGL output that looks really sweet.

I dont remember, but cant you just set private for a specific project then share the link with authorised peoples with sketch ? ( or maybe this is only for the pro version )

Anyway, i remember have seen soomething 1 month ago concerning Blender and “publication”, butt right now cant remember where.

the pro version allow to have private site on sketchfab!
might check it out

but would prefer some free version if possible

as I said possible with obj files but these are so huge
not certain why

unless it is possible to make an export for the MS app with smaller file size

thanks

Sketchfab pretty good for obfuscating objects mesh data, so they are really safe to publish without restrictions.
As far as i know they use specialized shader to decode mesh geometry right on gpu (only)

PRo version is a paid version
so would prefer something free
like there was another 3D model like that a few years back
don’t remember name and it was possible to use with blender
but not certain it it can work in 2.79 and with 2.8

I like the idea of looking a 3D model in some HTML or as independent file form blender
not everyone like to use blender to see things even if it is a free soft

so having an independent way to see 3D models is interesting for non technical people

Maybe blend4web is another solution? Again, looks like you’ll need the commercial version if you don’t want your asset to be public. I’ve never used it or Sketchfab so I’m not sure on the technical details.

maybe https://p3d.in/

interesting site
but this use the OBJ file and blender makes huge obj file
I mean I had a small 3d model very simple and ended up with something like 80 MB of obj file

kind of same problem I had with MS free 3D viewer

so kind of a problem

anyone worked with the 3DS exporter
are the files huge or small ?

there are some 3D viewer for 3DS
but never tested that

but thanks for tip

you can try verge3d. Using this you can view the 3d model in html page. The website is https://www.soft8soft.com/verge3d/
