Do newer Nvidia Drivers actually improve render times in Blender?

Or is it only necessary to stay up to date for video games? Seems to me they should have already optimized the drivers for CUDA and cycles a long time ago, so im not bothering to download the latest drivers.

It depends from case to case.
For example the legends tell us that one night a NVidia developer had a dream where Blaise Pascal appeared and revealed him the secret to boost 3 times the performance of a card that was being kicked in the ass by another cheaper card.

BTW why this should be a lastest news?
