Vrchat custom avatar progress trouble

So, I am making a custom avatar for a friend. This one is supposed to have lip sync functions.

I am currently stuck at a point where I have given the avatar a complex face rig that deforms the face properly for various visemes, and I can scrub through them, adjusting to my liking. But I am not sure how to get these poses to become shape keys so that I can later parent the mesh to the sample-avatar rig that is ready for use in Vrchat. I could go the hard way and push vertices to make classic shape keys, but rigging is much faster…

Also it is difficult to find information on the T-pose. My original mesh had more an A-pose, which I think is better, I have seen people using custom avatars with A-pose, pretty much pre-rigged I think, but this is all very confusing…

Any tips?
