Dither effect not saving in the png file

Hi. I have enabled dither effect in the blender project and renders fine. But it is not saving in the 16 bit png file. Does anyone know the reason for that? (Blender file included) Thanks.

No idea why it doesn’t come through, but I can confirm that it doesn’t in 2.79. Compositor viewer also does not show the dither effect, so I guess it is applied somehow only in viewer, but not to data. Although saving the image from Image Editor directly also does not save the dither effect.

So try reporting it to the bug tracker with an example file. Also try to find an older version of Blender that did work to compare.
