Looking for someone experienced that can share some guidance on my project.

Hello lovely people,

I’m currently working on an intro for my Youtube channel. I’m EXTREMELY new to Blender so please excuse my ignorance and silly questions. I’ve followed a “Wormhole VFX” tutorial made by CG Masters - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2WTH016rfk

No joke. It took me 6-7 hours to completely follow it through and finish it, producing the same product as the one in the video. I would like to be able to add the exit effect, so that it looks like you can exit the wormhole.

The only video that I could find that shows EXACTLY what I need as a finished product is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgy8N4Of21s

It’s advised to use an Optical Flare and manually animate it so it follows the exit and eventually scale up to simulate the effect. So far, so good… if I knew how to do that. Currently found a Blender Optical Flare Addon for the Video Sequence Editor (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BixIWh6upo4&t) and I’m trying to figure out how to animate it and get the effect I want.

ANY help is greatly appreciated !!

Hi there!
Well, that what you are aiming on, will be quiet difficult to fix within an animation. In my opinion, the original, that last one, what you want to get, has been done in after production. From a point of sight of a video editor/cutter, the last (about 6-7) sec. have been done with a simple fade out into clean clear white. That’s practically all.

I agree with Mike.
The easiest way to do this would be through post pro where you can just add a white fade out and the lens flare. A normal editing program can do this for you, there isnt even need for something like fancy like after effects.

But if you really really want to do it in Blender then I guess the addon you posted would work pretty well.
Another option could be to just add in a lens flare as an image plane with an emission material and animate its flight to the camera. Although I never tried that so I am not sure how it would look like.

If you really are stuck then you could send me your rendered video file and I’ll edit the flare in.

Yes, Chap, the sec. option might work too. But the plane (I guess) should be a circle - and what is more, the emission shader should have a gradient alpha, which should be animated too. So on the flow view within animation: full alpha at start up, then getting less in circle gradient from the center to the outer ring in, might be good, 2-3 frames steps up to the end point, when the camera view gets into the full white view.
This, because you need the flying worm-hole borders to get more and more unvisible…

In this case, the circle object must not move, could be placed in the right distance of the camera, to fill up the whole view at the end.

He if you ever need your music or sound effects remastered for free or a very small pay, I can help you with 10 tracks.
