Blender for an interactive music visualizer/interface, would it work?

Hi!

I’m a BA graphic design student graduating this Summer and for part of my diploma project, I’m creating an interactive music visualizer. I’m really a newbie at Blender and was wondering if you guys could answer some questions for me.

Note: My vision for the music visualizer is like an other-worldly scene where you could float around and observe the reactions to when you press a key from the keyboard. My plan is that each key on the qwerty keyboard is ‘rigged’ to an animated visual element, and a sound that I have recorded.

1- Is it possible to do this in Blender?
Or would I have to export the models to a program like Unity where I could work on the interactive part?

2- Is it possible to ‘rig’ 2 actions to a single key on the keyboard? For example, a synth note and a moving shape rigged to the ‘L’ key.

I would really appreciate all your help,

Thanks a lot!

I don’t see why this cant be done in the Blender Game Engine. Use input to both play a sound and start the animation?

I will try that; I was just wondering if it would work through Blender. Thanks for your help!
