GPU Rendering on ubuntu (Radeon RX 480)

Hi!

I’ve installed amdgpu-pro 17.50 but I can’t find my GPU in blender’s user preferences.
Running ubuntu (studio) 16.04.4 LTS xfce with a radeon rx 480 8gb (blender version 2.79a).

I just left windows for this. Please help I don’t wanna go back, but if I can’t render with my gpu I got no choise.
Before this I’ve also tested different and older versions of ubuntu, with no luck. I’ll be very happy to make it work here, but I’m willing to change distro and version if that’s the only way.

Hi.
Did you install Blender from repositories? If so, then you should try official Blender. Download tar.bz2 file from Blender web site, unpack tar.bz2 file to a folder. Enter that folder and run “blender” file there.
You see if you now find your GPU in User Preferences, System.
