Which physics animation should I use?

Hey folks there.
I would like to create abstracts like animation attached.

I have several questions:

  1. Which physics should i use (soft body or something else?).
  2. What the best way to make it moving? Force fields or shape animation?

Any clue would be appreciated.

  1. i would not do it with physics.
  2. what do you mean with shape animation and forcefields?
    I would play a bit with animation nodes and loft inside spline nodes.
    Another thing i would try… maybe at first …is to use a mix between some displace and wave modifiers.
