How to create space between particle system and its mesh

So I have this curved glass surface. I added a particle system (water drops) to the glass…but my drop are half way in the glass…

How can I change the distance of the drops to the glass? So how can I move the particle system inwards or outwards?

Second question: I need to manually remove some of the drops in certain areas… Is there a way to delete certain parts of the particle system? I feel there must be a brush or something to erase away… but im not sure how to do this…

And lastly… the object that the particle system is based on…is an object that I want to hide… I just want the drops to show. But… when i uncheck ‘emittor’ in the render tab of the partcicle system…nothing happens and I can still see the object… Im a missing something?

thanks!

Hi Split,

  1. did you check “size deflect” checkbox under physics settings"
  2. play with some geometry set to “collision” and kill particles.
  3. check render settings under particles tab. uncheck “Emitter”

good luck!
