Cloth Stretch from wind

Hey Blenderers, I’ve been experimenting with integrating a cloth simulations for the sails of a sailboat animation. for some reason I cannot figure out how to make my cloth act like it is a sail, it seems to just not care about the wind. any help would be appreciated.

I set a new vertex group that only pinned the top and bottom row of faces of each panel.
I made the sail silk.
Then I tossed the wind object and created a new one using a new empty (arrow)
I set the wind strength at 400, but it would work with less.

I suspect that your problem was a corrupt wind object. I also think you have too many faces pinned.
