First Blender model - Route 66 gas station

Just started to learn blender about a month ago so rather than do lots of little test pieces I thought I’d jump straight in with a full scene. The idea is to slowly build up and add all the little objects and details as I learn. Most of the textures are pretty basic at the moment These are 2 test renders of work so far with different HDR lighting added

Hello and wellcome to the blender com…

Well, it seems to be really well modelled and textured, if. I don’t know…, but my very first impression was: “That’s a macro photo of an H0 scale Rail Tranport Modelling asset.”

So in sense of “reality”, there seems to be something wrong…

Thanks, yes I agree with the scale comment. It does look like a scale model, I think it may be due to the fact it’s sitting on a fake looking base and the HDR background is very disconnected and out of focus. Hopefully the scale and realism will come together when I get the surrounding area modeled.
