Once again, thank you AMD for reinvigorating the CPU race.
Do note that the report of just 2.2 Ghz is based on very early chip samples (and by no means will resemble what the final silicon can do), but it does give an indication that 8-core PC’s will start to become pretty commonplace a year from now.
Now if AMD can really work on restarting the GPU race and force Nvidia to accelerate their release of their new architectures (but it’s been a very long time since the CPU front was the most exciting thing to watch in hardware)
