How to Have Overlapping Smoke Domains

For certain effects like detailed explosions, it can be nice to have fire & smoke effects with different properties present in the same space. Thus, I tried to achieve this by having overlapping smoke domains using different flow groups. However, when I implement this, I end up with results like in the attached scene: the overlap area either has no effects whatsoever, or weird chunky effects:

What’s a better way to achieve this? Thanks for reading!

as soon you have two smoke domains they wont interact with each other. as far as i know.

So what’s wrong with the attached scene then? Each smoke domain uses its own flow group, but as you can see in the scene, there are problems where they intersect.

do you mean the render gap between the two domains? if so this question should be placed in “materials and textures” or “lighting and rendering”. I was thinking about smoke interaction or simulation problems.
