I am confused about the choice between these two choices

hello guys im new to this beautiful forum and ask your help to choose between this hardware .
my goal is not to make animations but only models and render cycles

1- HP Zbook 15 Mobile Workstation

  • Intel Core i7 (4th Gen) 4800MQ / Max Turbo Speed 3.7 GHz 2.7 GHz
  • HDD 500 GB
  • NVIDIA Quadro k2100m with 2GB dedicated DDR5 Directx11
  • 15.6 FHD 1920x1080
  • RAM 16 GB

2- PC

  • Psu 400w huntkey
  • H110m msi
  • Cpu i5 7500
  • Ram 8g ddr4
  • Hard 1t
  • Gtx 1050 2g msi

What is the best choice please ??

Well the CPU on the 2nd PC looks quite nice. but rendering in the end would have more benefit from a good GPU.

So a breakdown

CPU - 2 is a win
1 - CPU - 4 core 8 thread, but only clocks to 2.7ghz on all cores,
2 - CPU - 4 core 4 thread, but clocks to 3.4ghz on all cores. and being 3 generations ahead, also a plus

Memory - 1 - has 2x the memory, hence larger scenes are possible to open.

GPU - 2 - newer tech, more cuda cores which are also significantly faster. Both have same 2GB, so limited scenes can be rendered, but there are some work arounds being worked in so we’ll see.

Hence Option 2 is best from performance point of view, and if you upgrade the RAM to 16, you’ll be set for a bit.

Recent tests I have done with a GTX 970 and Ryzen 1700 in Cycles, is that the CPU is beating my GPU. You also get greater precision from the CPU, but, meh… GPU can get you there faster. When it comes to rendering, more cores count over clock speed on the CPU.
