Using a Backgroundimage

Hey Guys I just started out with blender today. I thought as a start I wanted to create a Moustache as a 3D Sculpture (no real reason^^). So I checked online and found this Tutorial for a sculpture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXwaiTOlK9g So he explains that you want to add a Backgroundimage to start with the sculpture…so I activated “Background Image” and added a file. In his video, the picture shows up afterwards, but I can’t see the picture. DO you know what I’m might doing wrong? Sorry for the stupid question, but I really just started out. Cheers Gabe

For the background image to show you should must be in orthographic view and in the view specified in the the background settings (top, front, left etc). Toggle between orthographic and perspective view with numpad 5 and use the appropriate numpad key for the set view
