Using hair particle system to evenly distribute an object around a UV sphere

I’m trying to build a disco light and I’m using a hair particle system to distribute the disk shaped lights around the sphere however I can’t seem to get the disks to be distributed evenly/ in a uniform way - even though I’ve selected ‘even distribution’ in advanced settings. Any clues on how to solve this or alternatively let me know how you would achieve the same effect a different way?


Under emission, emit from, choose ‘verts’ and increase the number to match the total number of verts in the sphere.
