modeling and forming a ribbon with array + curve modifier

hi

I have a ribbon made from a wavy plane and stretched it along a curve.
I want it to be flat like in image 1)
but when I move some vertices of the curve in the 3rd dimension the ribbon turns, probably some ‘least distortion’ setting in blender, see 2)
the best setting for this I could find is in the twisting in the curve settings, but this still twists at the verstices 3)

how do I always have Z-up along the ribbon even in the 3d dimension without these ugly twists at the vertices like in 3) ? Can I rotate the curve along it’s own axis somehow?

With CTRL+T you can tilt any spline point.
