Quicker Merge (or different process)

Trying to create an approximate (or more accurate) Rhombic Hexecontahedron (Wolfram Logo):

Steps I’m taking:

1) Shift-A (Mesh / Math Function / Regular Solid / Dodecahedron)
2) Edit / x / Limited Dissolve
3) Alt - P (x2)
3a) Alt-J
4) A - Clear
5) Edge Select Long Edges
5a) Shift G / Length
6) x - Delete
7) Select Inner Vertices along deleted Edges
8) Alt-M / At Center
9) Select Center Vertices (Shift-G)
10) Amount of Adjacent Faces
11) Scale to Rhomboid (Appx)
12) Select mid Vertex (Shift-G)
13) Amount of Adjacent Faces
14) Scale to Rhomboid (Appx)

What this looks like, if you need a visual:

Part 1 (Steps 1 - 7) and Part 2 (Steps 8 - 14)

https://imgur.com/a/FrKQ0mXDoesn’t take long overall, but, is there a better, perhaps more
accurate way to go about it, or absent that, is there a way to
speed up (or streamline) the repetition of selecting the vertices,
Alt-M / Merge / Center process?

  1. select similar length
  2. ctrl+E -> rotate edge
  3. X -> edge collapse

Yes! So much easier.

Sometimes it’s just worth it to ask.

There’s so much that Blender can do.

Thank you!

Just updated the work flow to incorporate your steps.
