Help with how to merge and save a file

Gurus,

So I made this simple cube and draped a cloth over it. If I try to merge them the cloth goes back to it’s original position above the cube and turns back into a flat plane with the texture on it. I want to upload the file to second Life but when I save the work as a .dae it’s only the cube. Any thoughts on this? Your expertise is much appreciated.

Apply the cloth modifier to the plane before merging it with the cube. That way it will stay in the draped position. I don’t know how to fix the file problem though, sorry.
