Large sim not fitting in cycles but BI wont show shadows.

I got a extreme simulation, a system 6 GPU’s isnt able to render it.
The only option left over is to render everything width good old BI
Glad fully we still live in 2.79 :wink:

So i adjusted all cycles materials, unlinked shader materials edited them and made the shaders work in BI.

However there is one thing i miss and that is shadows.
Even if i go to “visible layers” (object mode) create a surface and a monkey no shadow is shown.
What property in BI disables shadows allthogether for everything?.
I got enabled recieve shadows and cast shadows but its not working inside this blend file (not even for new objects and new materials)

Wow, it’s been far too long. I just tried a simple scene with cast shadows and got the same results. Maybe BI shadows are no longer working in 2.79a/b.

Have you tried with earlier versions?

Apart from rendering in Cycles on the CPU, that is. Using Cycles with the CPU might still be faster than using Blender Internal (not even talking about the visual quality).

Other than that: Make sure the respective light sources are set to produce shadows as well.
