Using Blender for shadow maps generation?

Hi there, I would like to use Blender to generate a static shadow map for a racing game I’m developing (all modeled in blender, coded in c++ - it will be free and inspired to the old “Hard Drivin”).
I could use radiosity, but is there any way I can access the generated texture applied to the objects after the calulations?
I hope you understood my question… if not possible, is there any existing tools to generate shadow maps given a certain geometry and light setup?
