Nevermind, figured it out.

thanks mate, no i can export .pov files!!

The previous version I had would not work. This one works fine with my BP 2.25 and Python 2.20. Good Work, excellent script.

Thanks again,

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out.

Thanks a bunch for the script.

A bug with parented object was corrected tonight… new version (same name) in line.

im still new to blender and povray, the script seems to export just fine but i am unable to render them in povray.
I select the ini file and in povray and it opens the .pov file too, but nothing renders any ideas what im doing wrong?

In povray do an Alt-M
to see the error window,
do a copy and just post it
here.

sorry for not replying sooner I figured it out I had python 2.2 installed and after i installed python2.0 it worked fine.

2.2 made files but but they would not render

One more thing am not understanding though, my render comes out great other than it is grey. I painted my model in blender in the vertex mode (face select). ill read your documentation again i must be missing somthing simple.

great script by the way

@jms

Do you think its possible to export Blender meshes to MegaPov 1 mechanics. I mean, the meshes are made of vertices, edges and faces. The topology in mechsim is made of masses (vertices), connections (edges) and faces.
This would be great, so you could do mechanics and cloth simulation with your Blenderobjects. I’m no coder, but i think Megapov could handle this amount of masses and connections. If you look at
http://www-public.tu-bs.de:8080/~y0013390/pov/transient.html
you see, that it could do that.

Daniel

This script is fully independent and does not use external python,
only the one embedded in blender itself. So, it does not matter if a
python is installed or not. Your problem is somewhere else.

great script by the way

If there is no material on the original model, perhaps a problem of the version for blender2.25, use B2.23 instead. Otherwise, set the “colpaint” option.

Hi!

The same “problem” here, easy to solve by edit the output. But it seems that there’s an issue with uv-mapping. I use Blender 2.25 and PovAnim for B225 and when I export the scene, I don’t get any uv mapped textures.
There are no entries for uv-mapping in the ‘meshxxx.inc’ file.

Jean, did you ever test the B225 version? Well, I didn’t use your script for a while, so it’s possible that this is my fault, but actually I don’t think so …

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

That’s the povanim b2.25 big problem: it seems that meshes need at least 2 indexed textures (i am testing this point). But as the script is now very complex, it is very hard to see where is the default. It works fine with b2.23. One solution is to rewrite the material export part … I try to find time for that so…

( improved version but always a problem: http://jmsoler.free.fr/util/blenderfile/povanim_4b225.htm )

I’ve got problem with running the script at all
I’ve placed the povanim225c.pyo file in Publisher dir and run the script, but it Blender said that there is no module called povanim225c.
I’ve placed it in the dir with the scene and it started - but only once
It never exported properly and now it doesn’t want even start (always the same error - no module named povanim225c)

That error happens only if you are using blender creator 2.23
not the publisher. Verifiy your “blender.exe”.

note: there is a new version povanim225g.

Improvements in materials and uvmapping exportation.
(if you can: prefer to use the 2.23 version)
