Does anybody know if there will be update on the size of rendering.
Now we only can render using the standard screensizes.
Because I love to use Freestyle for print, I need bigger images.

    Thansks in advance,

From that animation looks that freestyle integration it is still alpha stage?

My first attempt at Japanese Anime-like edge rendering with the Freestyle renderer:

A short movie clip with the same character (2.82 MB, DivX):

(Please find a download link to a ZIP file in the middle of the page. The link may be difficult to find
due to the Japanese language and lots of ads. Excuse me for the inconvenience.)

[Edited] For those who have trouble in the download page above, I uploaded the movie clip to Vimeo:

Thanks for the comment. Yes, the eyes are UV textures on separate meshes,
while the eyelids are part of the face mesh with a blink shape key.

Here is another test movie clip and its preview image:

Absolutely great stuff. Love the animation and the thick/thin calligraphic line. I got it to work with some great results with just the line render, but as soon as I try to combine it with other render passes I start to have strange and "crashy" results. so no posts, sorry. I just read on Maxime post (Hello Maxime, great work!) that the environmental variable has been pulled out and other integration steps are in progress. I keep checking over at Graphicall.org for a new build (Hint) since I haven't conquered the "roll your own" drill. Very exciting development. Again, great simple but elegant animation render.

There have been some VERY impressive results posted to this thread - can't want to see some more renders, and especially animations!

My laptop also has an old onboard ATI card. The reason why I set up Win32 development
tools was that I wanted to fix the stability issue concerning graphic cards. So I'm happy to
hear that the new Win32 build works fine with onboard ATI cards other than mine.

You are welcome. Thanks for the feedback!

T.K., Thank you for the build. I had emailed JesterKing, who did the last build, and he mentioned that his "build" machine was in the shop. so your contribution is most welcomed. It worked just fine, as I posted on Graphicall.org.

Maxime, are you going to develop a GUI for the different styles, to allow easier selection, tweaking, and saving of presets? I will gladly render some simple examples to be used thumbnails in a GUI window. I am looking forward to the integration of the Freestyle component into the Blender render process, so it can then join in the compositor. Will this also allow more anti-alias to the output? Is there are reason that some non-style components are in the same folder, making selection sometimes confusing? Maybe it is just me. I am very happy and grateful to see all of this move along.

things look like they are coming along nicely, it still crashes when i use nodes to composite the lines on a mesh.

Second this wish... only it would be nicer to have a "live" render preview similar to the existing one in the materials area. Definitely going to need a UI, tho. Even something as basic as sliders for every possible variable in a column would suffice... altho having fully explanatory tooltips for each would be a welcome feature!

Eagerly waiting official release! Keep up the GREAT work!
