    Blender 1.0

I started using Blender at about 3.36, and I was just wondering how far Blender has come, since before that. Like, does any one have Blender 1.00? Probably not.
Anyway, could any of you take the trouble to, if you haven't uninstalled it, upload a .zip file containing the earliest possible Blender version that you have, or a link to download? It'd just be interesting to see the change.

    Hey this is pretty cool.

Blender 1.60 runs on my XP box, only one file at 1.7meg ! .. no DLL's etc.

Are there "b key" (license) files available for it? .. so I can save files?

I actually have a 1.5 manual that I bought from the foundation way back. The manual is almost mint as I couldn't figure out the program back then

If I remember correctly, 1.5 didn't need a key, but "extra" features ??? were enabled if you had one?

One bit of functionality that Blender1.6 had that hasn't been fully restored/reimplemented was the ability to view thumbnails of images while browsing files. I believe there is still a way to switch it but it is not recommended or default behaviour.

That and if you used 'border' rendering, it'd layer the new section of render over the old picture, which would be nice as an option, if nothing else.

Re: thumbnails: Isn't there some revised file system thing on the back burner somewhere? Or am I just talking through my neck.

Pynode alone in 2.44 could allow for some shaders not possible before.

It would be nice if Jahka's current patch can make it into 2.44, it looks great even now. He can get the completed version in 2.5.

Koba, I was looking at the 2007 road map a couple days ago.
One of the features was thumbnail viewing. I was thinking that blender had that feature once upon a time, but could'nt remember for sure had thought maybe I was dreaming.

I remember thumbnails, taking forever to load too.

I recently opened up Blender 1.80 and felt very nostalgic.

    Hi Curtis,
Am I wrong or the second image represents the Evoluon building in Eindhoven ?

    Enrico,
I am not sure about the building but it very well could be since NaN was working out of Eindhoven for a time (if I recall correctly). Ton or Bart could probably answer this question for sure.

Wow, there was a printed certificate? I am a C-Key owner too but just received a file as an email attachment...
