1 mesh 2 uvs for texturing help!

hello everyone,
so as the title states iam currently facing a problem, i created a body and want to texture paint each of head and the body apart. Ive tried this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqmXqgbzIxg tutorial but its on the old blender, and iam currently on the new stable blender 2.8. is there a way to achieve painting each part on a different image texture paint instead of having all the body on a single image. If you can provide me with a helpful tutorial or a boring detailed explanation that would be really really really helpful.
Thank you.
note-cant upload blend file due to several internet and file size reasons.

Hello. There was similar problem and solution multiple-uv-maps-blender

Thank you but I’ve seen this and it’s not the solution unfortunately.

If you want separate texture maps, you’ll need separate materials, then the UVs can overlap without issue. You don’t need multiple UV maps if you do it this way. However, you can create multiple UV maps, then when you assign your image textures, instead of using texture coord input and selecting the UV output node, use a UVMAP input node instead and give it the name of the respective UV Map, though you then have the issue of deciding how to mix the shaders.

ive tried what you said and yes i had troubles with mixing the shaders but what most troubled me was when i texture painted each of the separate uvs. the painting would affect head and the body at the same time.

The key is to map your UVs such as they don’t show up. To be honest, I use Substance Painter now as it takes away all these hassles, just using masks. Maybe the layer painter addon for Blender would allow this as I think that utilizes masks.

I was busy and didn’t open the link the time you sent it and i just found out it needs money and unfortunately i don’t have the cash to pay. so if you have any normal techniques that would be helpful.
