Just to let everyone know I’ll be away between the 24th of November to the end of January next year. So don’t assume that I dropped this game. Seya
Its been a while since I used Blender last and you could say I am a noob and you’d be right.
One night I hoped on my computer and played Worms and Liero. Both are addicting games that are simple to use and understand. But when I was playing Liero a thought hit me, I should make a pvp (player vs player) game in blender.
With that idea in mind I stopped playing and had a long hard think…
5 minutes later…
Bingo. How about a pvp where the player can chose from a range of era’s or ages to set the game play in. e.g. medieval, present, future. there are more but you get the idea. When the player choses an era the level and weapons and characters all match up to that selection.
So if the player choses “Medieval” then his character will fight with swords, shields etc. Present would be guns, body armor etc…
After I had this basic idea of what the game would be about I began to make parts of the “Present” level. This is what I have done so far.
These are in-game screenies of the “Present” level so far. I have made the models (which in these images where simple) and the textures for everything so far.
Yeah I’ll add some walls in soon. And yes this is a hallway that will hopefully have booby traps set throughout it. So the player has to worry about them as well as the enemy.
I have been working some more on the map. Here’s what I’m up to at the moment.
I have made some changes to the game play. In the center of each map will be a home base area. The aim of the game is to be the first to stay withing that area for 2 minutes. While you must also stop the enemy from entering. If both you and the enemy are in the Home area then no time will be awarded to either.
To keep the enemy away there will be a range of weapons suitable for each map type. In this map there will be a hunting knife, smg and pistol. If I do manage it would be cool if the player could pick up ammo boxes and other things and throw them at the enemy.
I have a basic design ready for the pistol. And I have begun on the texture for it.
Next I will start adding things inside the arena. Such as some ditches and traps, also razor wire fences, crates, tables, rubbish and maybe some lights hanging from the ceiling.
