Long before the arrival of the new religion, the people of ancient Lithuania told tales of one who forged the Sun. Not a sun god, or heavenly god. An earthly creator - a blacksmith - who with his hammer freed Saulė, throwing it into the sky.

Yes, the sun & background are both from a sky texture. And the sparks are area lights set to be visible to the camera.
