I’ve always wanted to make a Suzanne out of paper…

Wow that’s pretty cool actually, nice idea! Is this a Blender Internal render?
Heh, nice execution of a cool idea. I like it. :]
Great!
reminds me “origamis”
Briliant! Can you give instructions on how to make an origami suzanne?
What???!!! It’s not real???!!! But I can see it!
Seriously, great job! it just needs some color. Try making the paper red or something.
Nice one, i always like a suzzane that’s presented in a different way, and you’ve managed it without even subsurfacing, let alone modifying the mesh. The scizzor handle’s material could do with a bit of tweaking. Well done overall.
Ha, thast really great. I think it would really benifit from some DOF and softer shadows(better buffers too)…
great image though, and textures. 4 stars.
It’s black and white 'cause it’s for the book. Splash image for the UV Mapping chapter.
I only modified Suzanne by using the V-key to rip the mesh a bit in certain places. UV mapped a scanned sheet of paper for the texture.
Glad you liked it – it’s been way to long since I’ve done something with monkeys anyway.
Oh… You made that picture?! That’s one of my favorites! (Made it into the Blender 2.3 Guide, y’know…)
I’ve been around a while.
very nice concept and execution.
haha, brilliant, I love it. can I see the wires, and what did you use for a texture?
haha cool orgasimi…
That’s so awesome! Too cool. Add color and depth of field, and I’d say that it’s a candidate for the forum gallery.
Nah, no color.
Just some good shallow DOF.
salutes harkyman
Chuckle… This is a great execution of an original idea. I hope that we will soon have a “HowTo.”
I’ll put up a little thing (with wires) tomorrow, if I’m slow at work.
Hehe, great work!
Nicely executed and very original idea harkyman, not sure about the
transparency settings of the papermaterial though…, is there some
translucency involved there? If not i would give it a try
Bye, Olaf.
Wire, as requested:
And a color version, which I don’t like nearly as well as the original:
