Here’s some renders of my Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield Carbine. I know it’s not the greatest as I’m a noob at blender.

C &C Welcome
It looks awesome, I dont have any critz, but I’m also still rather noobful.
You’re not a n00b. n00bs want everything done for them, they’re lazy, they don’t wanna learn.
You’re better than me when I was a newbie
It has good detail, you should texture it.
For doing wood, look what wood the gun is made of, search for images, make it seamless on a program like gimp, save it on a resolution of a power of 2 (64, 256, 512, 1024), and map it.
Well it was an attempt, and I’ve started to texture the wood and it sucks pretty bad.

that gun has some serios details
real good details… much better than i can do
Thanks, I personally think the details on my gun aren’t very accurate.
Would anyone like to point me in the right direction of how to uv map and texture?
I think I’ve figured out the UV mapping now.

The wood on the gun is more reddish… try this texture.
I’m not copyrighting it.

Thanks B3d00 looks a lot better now.

I’ve made some little updates in the textures.

Looking good, I still can’t get uvmapping and I’ve been at it or over a year. Try spec-mapping and normal mapping it.
I’m not sure how to do either.
in the materials tab, you need to find undercategory that says map to, col is already pressed in, now what you need to do is press the one next to col called Nor.
Another update.
I’ve made some changes to the rear sights and added some more textures.

Try scaling the whole stock’s uvmap by the X-axis, and set Nor on to a low value, around .20.
