2.25 Source Code?

…errr…,
I may have a visual acuity issue or just a general degenerative reading comprehension problem…

But, I cant seem to find the 2.25 Source Code.

Before anyone castrates me for not looking for it on my own, I want to mention that I have done several searches on this forum, Dogpile.com, ScriptSearch.com, ProgrammersHeaven.com, codeproject.com, and the blender.org pages, and all I can find is the source code for 2.28

Also, will the source compile effortlessly with MSVC++ 6.0 Standard Edition or should I reinstall DevC++? Or, is a Python compiler needed?

Oh yeah, anyone know of n00b errors that I should avoid when compiling, ya know, like linking errors and stuff like that.

[Edit]
Am I gonna need Python installed in order to compile the source code?

I don’t think you will ever find it, cause actually, there is a small problem… 2.25 isn’t GPL’d so they couldn’t possibly release the full sources of it… Also there was the known issue with the 2.25’s Game Engine, which is commercial and thus can’t be included…

That’s all I know…

go here to ask, better and quicker response, and where development of Blender happens; Coding Blender forum:

Could you elaborate?

The known issue?

Could you elaborate?

I think I explained it enough in my previous post…

The game engine was commercial and most probably patented/copyrighted, so they couldn’t include it’s source, along with Blender sources… That’s why in the following releases, the Game Engine is disabled after all…

I think they released a snippet of the code immediatelly after the end of the funding campaign and the openning of Blender.org… Perhaps this is what you are looking after… I’m not sure if it was 2.25’s sources or based on the sources of a previous release, but in any case the Game engine is not included in there… So the sources are not complete…

Maybe someone else can help you better than I can… I don’t know… Better check with ztonzy’s suggestion…

Good luck…

Tuhoppu (search for background) has the game engine, available code and a group of people activly compiling it that could help you.
