2.41 mist (or kind of fog)

Hi all,

In 2.41, is there a simple way to exclude an object from mist ?
Or is it still impossible ?

The effect i want is to have a kind of distant fog, but i also want to be able to see the skybox.

second question:
Is it possible now to have a gradient mist (2 colors white to blue for example)
in 2.41.

I don’t know if it’s possible… it would be good if it was, though… that technique is used in a lot of professional games…

Add-filter objects always show up as an outline through the mist, though… it drives me crazy.

Add your skybox to a background scene.

It depends on how skyboxes are set up. Hmm… you never get closer or further away in a skybox right? If that’s the case, adding a backround scene definitely works.

actually i’ve noticed that objects with materials on them and running the texture blending script are excluded from mist

The trouble with background scenes is that the sky won’t rotate along with the camera’s rotation… you get a fixed sky, and that looks strange. There are workarounds, but they don’t always work right.

What is the texture blending script ?
