Ok, I have been out of blender for a while.
I downloaded 2.46 recently, to keep up to date, but have found that things are different.
So heres what I have questions about:

I used to be able to change the camera view, to any direction, and add a plane, or cube or any object, and it would face my direction. Now, in 2.46 it faces up only. Thats sort of annoying, if you ask me, because I have to rotate and play around with the object to get it into position when it was just fine in the previous versions. Is there any option to change this? (most important question for me!)

The UV mapping is wayyy different. Are there any tutorials out there for this?
