I have made a bunch of palm leaves that gently shiver in a Turbulence field (by using a cloth modifier). But when I jump between frames all my leaves distort.
They seem to drop as if they dont have any stiffness anymore? I have painted it in and it works ok when rendered (from the start), but I cant pick up my render in the middle as that requires Blender to jump frames, when it jumps it screws the leaves up.
Is this a bug or did I miss something? BTW the palms are all dups made from a series of modifiers (arrays and curves). Is there something wrong with mixing physics and modifiers?

I just noticed that the memory has gone way up too in the second screen grab. Why would it be different?
And it seems to go awry at 20 frames or so.
Heres a test render anyway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EvMM_dlWfE
PS I tried applying the modifiers and the effect remains
Can anyone tell nme if I can bake all the physics without doing each item seperately (there are to many at the moment to bother with)?
A universal bake all?
I don’t know about a universal bake. But I do know that you don’t want to try and jump frames on a sim. That will mess it up. Also each sim will be slightly different. And I don’t know about mixing the modifiers either. But I would lean toward applying everything and baking everything one at a time if need be. This way you have a scene that does not have to be calculated anymore.
I think I will just render a leaves pass with zdepth and use that instead of baking evrything one at a time. But thanks.
