in 2.5 how do you copy and paste a mat or a texture?

To copy a material, select all the objects you want to copy the material to (shift click to multiple select) and make sure the object which has the material you want copied is selected last. Then Ctrl+L and select material. Also under the Object / Links menu entry in the 3d view.
