2.5 Mac OS X Texture Limit Size seems to have no effect / not work ?


I am using daily builds of 2.5 from graphicall.org (mainly T.K. ones but also others…)

I am having trouble using large textures in large numbers so have tried activating the Texture size limit in the user options (always worked in 2.4x) but in 2.5 seems to have no effect; the computer (8core macpro with Nvidia GT120 so fairly hefty) becomes extremely sluggish in the 3d view and if you move close to a textured surface, they are clearly at a very high res if not full in the viewport…

anybody else experienced this / or have a solution?
