2.54 beta worked, now doesn't

Help I was really getting to like 2.5, except for a problem I had with two windows besides the python window, opening. A normal window and a small window, but I would just close the small window and continue on.

Now though, Blender doesn’t get loaded. It crashes and I get this info on the crash:

I admit I have installed a bunch of programs to test out and compare, since I had last used Blender and it had worked, so maybe there is a conflict there.

I have un-installed and reinstalled 2.5, no dice. I un-installed, cleaned the registry, and reinstalled. No dice. I downloaded and tried the zip portable version, same problem.

I tried the portable 2.49 that I downloaded after having found so much difference in 2.5, and before the problem started because I wanted to be able to follow along in the blender books I have and couldn't with 2.5. well It still works, but I really want to use 2.5

I hope someone can solve this for me.

Thanks

Hey, Hey, Hey, I just reinstalled Python. And am up and running, but the portable 2.5 still does’t work. Which is no problem since I don’t need it, and only got it hoping it would work when the installed version didn’t. I will try to keep from wondering why the portable doesn’t work, but am going to leave it on my computer to mess with once in a while.

What version of Python did you install? I just installed over 2.49b and it crashes on load. I have Python 2.6 installed already.

I just noticed that it finds its self contained Python instead… hmmm
