2.57: multitexture mode?

Iam trying to get multitextured mode to work but for some reason it doesn’t. I have a single object with one UV mapped texture, why isn’t it showing up in MT mode? I have attached the file.

are you talking about the little orange thing?
If yes, select it, add a “None” texture channel to the Material, and “Unwrap” the object in the UV Editor/assign the OO.jpg!
And change “Blender Render” to “Blender Game”!
