2.57 texture missing

I have a large scene with multiple objects.

Before rendering i check the textures on all objects, they are all present and correct

When i render some textures are missing

Then when you go to the texture tab > image > source
It says “Image not available”
But then if you press the refresh button next to the image the image is suddenly available!

This seems to happen to a random different texture every time i render.

This Project is for work so am going a bit mad

Help.
Thanks.

It’ll make the .blend really huge, but try packing the textures until you can figure out why it’s doing that.

You could try the “File–>External Data–>Make All Paths Relative…” option (or the Make All Paths Absolute). And try to keep your image files somewhere “near” your blend file (in the same directory, in a folder called “textures”, for instance – then the relative path would simply be //textures/image1.png).

I get that sometimes. If I know for a fact the image is there, I just shut down and open the file again, and voila, there it is. Sometimes Blender just won’t accept the file path. Weird.

Thanks guys.

All the textures are local to the .blend file. Also i tried packing all external files. I also tried setting all paths to relative and absolute. i shut down, restarted, appended, linked.
Nothing worked!

However. I took all the files home with me to try using my home pc.
Guess what? - it worked perfectly.

The spec of the pcs are quite similar, except i have 8 gig ram, 64 bit at home. My pc at work is 32 bit with only 3-4 gig ram.

I think this indicates a problem with the pc at work.
(Also i was getting quite a few crashes at work, none at home)

I also find it easy to blame my work computer! But, yeah, it is very suspicious. Good luck then ;D

Bit of an odd one, still have not figured it out. But got the images done anyway.

If anyone wants to take a look i have posted below.
They are visuals of some new play equipment that the company i work for are supplying to a leisure centre in Maidenhead UK.

Some of it was a bit of a rush but turned out ok.
