2.68a doesn't save the startup file

Hi all,
I just installed Blender 2.68a 64 bit on my Windows 7 PC.
As usual I tweaked a bit the interface, adjusting the windows.
Then I tried to save the Startup File, but when I close and restart, the configuration returns to the initial state, without remembering my changes.
Is it a known bug or I have problems with my system?
Thanks.

Did you save your user settings in the User Preferences window as well ?

Hi Richard.
Yes, I also saved my modified configuration in the User Preferences window, as I was used to do in the previous versions of Blender.
But with the 2.68a it seems that this doesn’t have effect when I restart the program, because it always reverts to the initial condition with only one window. It’s strange, but does it happen only to me?

Same here. Clicking “Save User Settings” does nothing.

File>Save Startup file to save the window layout etc.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Sincerely I still did not fully understand the difference between “Save Startup File” and “Save User Settings”, as reported in the link provided by Stan, but I checked again, and with File>Save Startup File now it works. It’s important not missing the OK confirmation after the command.
