2.8 array follow path without distortion (Duplifaces doesn't seem to exist)

(Kevin Milner) #1

I have been trying for two hours to do a simple cone shaped object that is arrayed N times in a circle without the object being distorted.
Searching the internet says one should use duplifaces for this. But duplifaces doesn’t seem to exist in 2.8 and there is no up to date information in the documentation on how to do this.
Please someone help as I’m getting really really frustrated with Blender 2.8 right now.

Hey, Duplifaces has been removed for 2.8.

cone shaped object that is arrayed N times in a circle without the object being distorted.

I don’t know how you are going about this , but if you are using a ‘Curve’ object to obtain the circular shape, that is whats causing the distortion. instead use another object (Empty) as your ‘Object Offset’ in your ‘Array’ modifier, rotate it and move it to get the shape you require.

Or use this free Radial plugin for Blender 2.8 Beta :R.Array

thanks. I don’t know why that didn’t come up with the 8 million variations of what I tried to look for.
