2.82a Node Wrangler: Ctrl+T not working?

2.82a Node Wrangler “Add Texture Setup” button and hotkey (^t) not working here.

Is there some specific mode that needs to be engaged, or item selected, to make “Add Texture Setup” work? What’s a likely ‘paper cut’, as the devs say, that would prevent it from functioning?

As usual, the very next try worked: one must have a node selected for “Add Texture Setup” to function, since it ‘wants’ to connect to something. In a default setup, either the PBSDF node or the Material Output (or both) will do.
