2 Beginner questions about compositing

Hey guys, 2 quick questions about compositing

  1. If i create a matte of my object (with cryptomatte)…The white part of the matte isnt 100 procent white (its like 80%). I need it to be 100% white so I can use it properly as a mask in photoshop. Why is this? And how can I fix this?

  2. Is it possible to automatically render a ‘matte’ version of my image when I render out my image? So I dont have to do it manually in the compositor afterwards and save it? I would love to press F12, and then get 2 output files automaticcaly (final image, and a matte image i can use for masking in photoshop)

  1. You are likely using the filmic color transform, which is also applied to the compositing outputs and passes. If you want a correct output you may have to use the default srgb color transform.

  2. Yes, there is a file output node, which writes whatever you have plugged in to a file in the specified directory.
